UPSL Women Midwest West Set to Introduce Pro / Rel, Plans to Expand Womens Divisions Across Country

The UPSL Women Midwest West is set to make history this upcoming season with the introduction of promotion and relegation, alongside the launch of a two-division structure for the first time within a UPSL Women conference. The move represents a major milestone for the league’s women’s pathway, raising competitive standards while creating a clear, performance-based system that rewards success on the field. 

UPSL Women Director Amer Mian emphasized the significance of the announcement and its broader implications for the women’s game nationwide: 

“The launch of Division-1 in the UPSL Women’s Midwest-West region marks a major step forward for the women’s game. After three successful years of growth and stability with the UPSL Women, the Midwest West region is elevating competition by introducing a second division and implementing promotion and relegation. This will help raises standards across all our Women divisions and reflects our strong commitment to long-term growth and competitive excellence in women’s soccer.” 

The news also arrives at an exciting moment for the UPSL Women’s Division, which continues its rapid expansion across the country. Last year, the league hosted its first-ever UPSL Women’s National Finals, marking a major milestone for women’s soccer within the UPSL pathway. The league has already confirmed that announcements for the next UPSL Women’s National Finals are coming soon, with dates, location, and additional details set to be revealed in the near future. 

“This is about more than just one region. Our goal is to build sustainable, competitive structures that allow clubs and players to grow year over year. The Midwest-West is taking the lead, and we fully intend to expand this two-division model across UPSL Women conferences throughout the country as the league continues to evolve.” 

In addition, it was recently announced that the Spring 2026 UPSL Women’s National Finals will feature a record-setting $20,000 total prize pool, reaffirming the UPSL’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for women players and clubs at the national level. Together, promotion and relegation, national finals, and increased investment signal a defining moment in the league’s continued rise.
